Inspired by a deep appreciation for natural elements, and the beauty and complexity of humanity, she has developed an original style with global appeal. These colorful images have been described as a blend of post-impressionism and romanticism bordering on the surreal. With a unique vision the artists imaginary scenes and landscapes offer tranquil settings and unusual perspectives that blur the line between fantasy and reality while still allowing a classic approach to her Still Life, Figurative and Portrait work that encapsulates the spirit and mood of the subject in the moment . |

Some of Martha's most recent works combine the fine art of Trompe l'oeil with her love of fine furnishings resulting in a line of hand painted fine art furniture pieces. |

Vision Statement
Art inspires
individual interpretation of the seen and unseen in a
reflection of the soul. Like open windows into other worlds art creates a passage through the threshold of the imagination. I use color applied with a brush as an extension of the mind, a step into another dimension. As you look into my paintings I want to lead you beyond their borders to see and feel the spirit of another time and place. Martha Rose Applegate |
